18th Century Kilt Waistcoat
Our eighteenth-century style waistcoat is a timeless piece inspired by historic tailoring. Crafted from high-quality buff-coloured cotton, this waistcoat is designed to replicate the elegant and practical garments worn during the 1700s. It is shown here with imitation horn buttons, adding a touch of traditional charm. A key feature is the period-accurate lacing at the back, which allows you to adjust the fit for comfort and durability.
To ensure a perfect fit, we require a few key measurements. Please provide a firm chest measurement, along with a relaxed waist measurement taken at belly button height—not the trouser line. For length, you can either measure a well-fitting kilt waistcoat you already own or measure from the nape of your neck to the belt line of your kilt. Supplying your height also helps us cross-check the proportions and ensure a great overall fit.
Each waistcoat is individually made to measure and made to order in our Glasgow workshop by skilled artisans. The current lead time for production is shown in the drop-down menu on the product page. Whether for formal occasions or historical re-enactments, this waistcoat combines traditional aesthetics with personalised craftsmanship.
